Perform a Sensor Adjustment on an Evolis Printer

Performing a Ribbon Sensor adjustment can be a valuable troubleshooting tool on any card printer. The instructions below, or found here can be used as a step to resolve many common issues that can occur with Evolis Card printers. Follow the steps below if you experience error lights on the printer, ribbon breaking, continious panel searching, or if only one or two panels print on a YMCKO ribbon.

  • Use the Sa command to adjust all the sensors in the same process:
Make sure a color(YMCKO) ribbon and cards are inside the printer.

In the Driver properties/Tools/Dialog with printer, Type in Sa and hit enter on your keyboard

  •  The “warning-LED” from the control panel will flash.
  •  Open the cover. The “warning-LED” will stop. When it’s on again, close the cover.
  •  The “card-LED” will flash. Take out the feeder. The “card-LED” will stop.  When it’s on again, put it back (Not for Quantum2).
  • The card will be fed, ejected then the sensors will be adjusted.
    • If this procedure has been followed too slowly, a “timeout elapsed” message may be displayed.
For the Quantum2 and Securion, only the sensors from the printing module will be adjusted.
